Many people know about the Heroes of Might and Magic series, many have their own favorite part, but most often this applies to parts from the first fifth inclusive. Many ignore Might and Magic: Heroes 6 (I was not mistaken in the name, my own irony), which did not gain success and entailed the bankruptcy of the Black Hole Entertainment studio (hereinafter Bhe).
Ubisoft wing development
Since I decided to talk about development, I will not jump off the topic. Ubisoft, being the publisher and owner of the franchise, could not agree with the domestic developers from Nival on the development of the sixth part of the series, so Bhe took up it. For 2 years, they simply could not finish the game AAA format with their ambitions
… I worked at Black Hole throughout the development of H6. For us it was a dream project, since we were real fans of the Heroes series, because we have played it since the original King’s Bounty on the Commodore 64. And I can tell you that it was UBI producers who did not observe their terms, which led to the complete failure of the entire development. Back in 2008, during the contract of negotiations on a contract, persons who make business decisions with UBI did not want to hear about the inclusion of the clause in the contract, which in case of any delays, UBI would incur losses along with BH. It was a stupid decision of our business development boss (she said: “UBI will never be late with any results” … Hahaha) ..

On the release (from what I managed to find out), everything was also not rosy: bugs, departures, conflux. There are many problems, and Bhe did not have time to solve them. The situation did not improve the fact that they did not receive a penny, because under an agreement with Ubisoft, the company would begin to make a profit only after a minimum of 2 million was immediately sold. copies of the game, which of course did not happen.
So what’s wrong with the sixth heroes?
Well, firstly, the sixth heroes are a new view of the series, from which the name is Might and Magic: Heroes, not the classic homm, which of course scared away fans, secondly … and no, I will leave it with a surprise . Let’s better tell you about this "new look".
And this is only the original magic, but there are also elements, combat skills, of varying degrees of usefulness, among which both passive and active!
With an increase in the level, you Lucky VIP sister sites are given a skill point, you can spend it on any skill available to your hero (or spell). This is a plus minus convenient mechanics, since your new hero (which, by the way, is always weaker than the strongest when hiring at 5 levels) can take logistics and quickly throw the troops onto the front line. Although this may not be needed, because now a common pool of creatures has appeared in the game, in other words you can hire all the troops in the same city, but this is not all! Now each faction can build a city portal, and its improved version allows the hero to retreat to the city from any location.

In general, the cities are the weakest side of the sixth heroes, in my opinion, from the point of view of the visual and thoughtfulness. From three-dimensional cities with beautiful spans of cameras remained, even good, but still pictures with gifs imposed on top, in which you should not peer, your eyes can be scratched on the corners. Yes, and the construction menu has become … well, just Fe-e. Well, at least added the opportunity to rebuild the city to the faction of the main character .
The locks were removed as such, now it is simply possible to build the walls. It becomes difficult to understand what units to the player can be useful specifically now, because the player does not know either the characteristics or the ability of units. Although here I was a little ducked. Usually, by the very type of creature, you can understand its features, or you have these units from the beginning in the army, but there is one catch – you can’t see the ability of units on the campaign map! You can see them when hiring and transmitting units, but that if they were initially neutral, such as elementals, and there are no union heroes nearby? But that’s all, wait for the battle to see in battle. Imagine my face when I first attacked the Army of the shooters on the Assassins, and after the start of the battle the invisible ones remain.
But a really convenient feature – you can at any time see the characteristics and ability of improved unit if the city is built in the city. But still I would like to see the house without building. Can. How? Vicki.
Heroes, factions and Wundervafli
Without leaving the city, it is worth mentioning the heroes themselves. I already mentioned that the new heroes are weaker than the main level at 5 levels. What I did not mention this is that you can hire absolutely any hero, absolutely any fraction. It’s funny that the hero, just like in a fourth part, can explore the map without an army, though they will not go to death, so they cannot fight without troops. Here is just to produce them not effectively, since each subsequent hero is more expensive than the previous one and the fifth hero will cost you 10k gold. At the death of the hero, he can be rather cheaply resurrected the next day, but he will appear without troops, and the escaped will retain the army that he had when escaping.

And remember I said that each fraction has a unique ability? Well, now, now the necropolis is not special. The scale of ability is filled in different ways, somewhere the player’s troops should receive damage, somewhere on the contrary, the enemies, somewhere it is filled from the worked out morality and t. D. One way or another, with the filling of the scale, you can use the ability of a higher rank . Regarding the abilities themselves:
Inferno, as the most initiative faction, can be called clones of detachments through the gates of demons, at high levels without delay.
The tribes increase the initiative, and later they also beat more painfully, and the enemies are stunned, and generally cool guys.
The Shadow League makes units invisible (as if there were few existing units), and if the hero will pump, then everything, the enemies will no longer see his army.
So, in addition to racial skills, heroes have, as before, specialization, a special effect from the hero’s attack, which somehow affects the course of the battle, and the skills of the path. I mentioned the karma system, here it is tears and blood. Only the main character has karma, since he is a representative of the player dynasty, but more on that later. It is important that karma can be obtained as allowing or not allowing the enemy armies or using certain skills/spells. For example, if your hero often uses healing and a call of reinforcements, then your hero will sooner or later become kind, and if he pumps out life from enemies or, oh God, lifts the fighting spirit of soldiers, he will be considered evil. Logical? Perhaps, but who cares, because for a particular path allows you to get special track skills, which for the most part determine your tactics.
And there is where to invent tactics, there are a lot of battle fields and sometimes all sorts of special objects appear on them, like traps, enhancing flags and the like. Yes, and if the player made a mistake, then the game always allows you to replay the battle, even in the network game.
Conflux – broken artificial heart h6
If you suddenly want to play the sixth heroes, then avoid online! I’m not joking! Play Hotseat via Parsec or similar programs to it. Online this game is cursed!
I will explain. Ubisoft in their usual manner wanted to make a game-service, giving birth to Conflux and the dynasty system. Dynasty – the profile of the player that is pumped from the passage of missions, victories, etc. D. which gives players advantages in the network game. Not, not so, the advantages in the network game! For example, a player can start with a strong hero, a powerful artifact (who, by the way, also have pumping) and additional bonuses “features of the dynasty”, which (heroes and weapons) can be opened during the passage of the campaign or for achievements, as one comrade with whom I “tested” the network mode has assured me), but of course this is not everything, because the player can get more strong strongArtifacts pumping the rank of the dynasty, in other words you play a lot – you destroy beginners. Why is he needed? Ubisoft will not answer you, although it was definitely their idea.
Conclusion
Perhaps I have nothing more to add, the music is normal, the floor of Romero is in place (in the menu of the dynasty the remix of the third -heroes of the heroes plays, I have already traveled), the animation of units is cool (especially the animations of the inaction of the mouth), the plot on the tower, it will go (the truth is given through the katsen, then through text windows, albeit voiced), and sometimes even voiced)intelligence than artificial (I have repeatedly flew out archers because II loves to use the expectation with a high initiative), you need to turn with the start parameters for the first time, but these are trifles.
You can generally notice that the game was cast from different pieces of old parts, but they were stitched together. So with interesting battles an interesting role -playing part is adjacent, but the neighbors of them are not very, now and then they strive to annoy each other. But, you know, I liked the sixth heroes. Not as another part of the series, but as a separate game. Damn, if I hadn’t played the heroes before, then the game would be just chic, but alas, let it be under a different name, it’s still part of a series of heroes and personally perceive it, accordingly. I hope you can perceive it differently, in any way my goal is to draw attention to a not bad game. What can I say if it was not even at Stopgame at the time of writing this text, although all the other games of the series are in place, even the seventh heroes, in which I am going to play. It may turn out that the seed is not a bad game, like this? I will keep up with.
